生平
他生于倫敦，父親是制片人JohnHeyman，母親JohnHeyman是一名演員，其父具有德國猶太人血統(tǒng)，母親是英格蘭人。1983年大衛(wèi)取得哈佛大學(xué)藝術(shù)史學(xué)位。
起初他擔(dān)任大衛(wèi)·里恩于1984年執(zhí)導(dǎo)的電影APassagetoIndia的制片助理。1986年成為華納兄弟公司的創(chuàng)作監(jiān)督。1980年代后期成為聯(lián)美公司副主席，之后成為獨(dú)立制片人，首部制片作品為1992年的美國犯罪片Juice。1997年返回倫敦并創(chuàng)建了屬于自己的制片公司HeydayFilms，從此制作了一系列具有影響力的電影。
